Gunung Lawu acap kali disebut sebagai salah satu destinasi pendakian yang cukup mistis. Sebab, cerita mistis di Gunung Lawu dipercaya oleh masyarakat luas. Gunung Lawu sendiri terletak di perbatasan Jawa Tengah dan Jawa Timur.
Selain karena memiliki panorama yang sangat indah, Gunung Lawu juga menjadi destinasi favorit untuk dinikmati para pendaki. Ketinggian gunung ini adalah 3.265 meter di atas permukaan laut.
Meski dikenal horor, cerita mistis yang beredar di tengah masyarakat itu justru menjadi tantangan tersendiri bagi para pendaki. Dewasa ini, banyak sekali hal-hal mistis yang terjadi pada pendaki Gunung Lawu, mulai dari hilang berbulan-bulan dan ditemukan, hingga tewas karena berbagai hal.
Cerita mistis Gunung Lawu tak bisa dilepaskan dari legenda yang dipercaya oleh masyarakat setempat. Masyarakat percaya bahwa Gunung Lawu merupakan sebuah kutukan dari raja terakhir kerajaan Majapahit, Prabu Brawijaya V.
Seperti diketahui, Gunung Lawu memiliki tiga puncak, yakni Hargo Dalem, Hargo Dumiling, dan Hargo Dumilah. Warga setempat meyakini bahwa ketiga puncak tersebut dijaga oleh dua makhluk gaib, yakni Dipa Menggala dan Wangsa Manggala.
Semula, dua penjaga itu adalah manusia biasa yang menemani Prabu Brawijaya mengasingkan diri. Keduanya kemudian diangkat menjadi penguasa dan patih yang membawahi semua makhluk gaib yang ada di Gunung Lawu.
Setelah diangkat, Dipa Menggala kemudian diberi gelar Sunan Gunung Lawu. Sementara patihnya patihnya, Wangsa Menggala bergelar Kiai Jalak. Keyakinan tersebut selalu diceritakan secara berulang-ulang dan turun temurun oleh masyarakat.
Karena itulah, ketiga puncak Gunung Lawu dianggap sebagai tempat yang sakral. Puncak Hargo Dalem sendiri dipercaya merupakan tempat mmenghilangnya Prabu Brawijaya V.
Keberadaan Pasar Setan yang Bikin Pendaki Merinding
Salah satu hal mistis yang dipercaya oleh para pendaki dan masyarakat sekitar adalah adanya Pasar Setan. Pasar Setan adalah kawasan yang memungkinkan para pendaki mendengarkan keramaian gaib di jalur pendakian Gunung Lawu.
Biasanya, juru kunci akan memberikan nasihat agar tidak membeli atau menerima barang yang ditawarkan oleh orang-orang yang ditemui di lereng. Sebab, penjual yang tiba-tiba ada itu bukan manusia, melainkan makhluk gaib penghuni Pasar Setan.
Dari berbagai cerita yang ada, pendaki yang melewati jalur pendakian Cetho akan mendengar sayup-sayup suara yang ramai seperti pasar. Namun, pasar tersebut tidak kelihatan alias gaib.
